The Starfish Enterprise

A Safe, Comfortable RHIB for Diving and Boat Trips

Our boat, the Starfish Enterprise, is a Redbay Stormforce 7.4m rhib and is coded for 8 passengers and 2 crew.

She meets the MCA requirements for category 3 during day time operation and category 4 during nighttime operation.

She is kitted out with all the relevant safety equipment including lifebuoys, life raft, flares and fire extinguishers. The forward helm consists of a GPS chart plotter, DSC VHF radio and all navigational equipment.

In our aft compartments we store first aid kits and medical grade oxygen so we can deal with any emergencies. Our skipper and crew are all qualified in oxygen administration and first aid.

Diving Trips

The Starfish Enterprise has been designed to provide a safe and comfortable platform for our divers.

Uniquely for a rhib, we have a central back-to-back bench where dive cylinders are strapped in safely on top, whilst fins and other equipment go under the bench, keeping the deck clear. Seating for divers is on the large tubes and aft compartments. This type of set up is mainly only seen on hardboats. This set up is perfect for 8 open circuit/twinset divers or 6 closed circuit rebreather divers with bailouts/stages/DPV’s.

For kitting up, we have a spacious aft deck area and two separate hard platforms, where pairs can sit down and get into (and out) of their gear without being squeezed into a gap next to other divers all trying to get kitted up together! Our skipper is always on hand to assist with kit handling including fins, stage cylinders and camera rigs.

We have a large easy to climb ladder for you to access the rhib after your dive which can take the weight of a fully kitted diver. You are welcome to hand the skipper any loose equipment before you make your way up the ladder but once back on board, you will be greeted with a hot drink of your choice and some home baking courtesy of “Colesys’ Costa”.

Generally, we would come back to base between dives for lunch, cylinder change overs and a comfort break. However, it may be agreed in advance that on some trips we are out all day, for which we will take all cylinders required for the days diving and we also have a portable toilet we can take for comfort breaks.

Boat Trips

Our bench becomes the seating with additional padded back rests for extra comfort.

This means you are perfectly positioned looking out over the water to spot any wildlife on the horizon or dolphins creeping up in the wake! You will also get binoculars and ID cards so you can see what you can spot. Hot drinks are available on trips of 2 hours or more, however, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. We can comfortably seat 6 adults and 2 children.
